Episode 3: portland-THe realm of darkness

This podcast was created by Nexus the web developer and executive producer as well as the artistic director, Kane and Mamad were the hosts, and Close and Astrin wrote the script. In this podcast they mention the unfortunately high level of homicides in today’s society. Our guest speaker, Maria Galati, Could not be present upon recording, so we improvised and got her responses into an auto reader.

This podcast was created by our web developer Andrey and our co-web developer Vadim. The hosts of the Podcast are Johnny, Piper, and Shykota. Our interviewer is Johnny. The executive producer for the podcast was Shykota. The script writer was Piper and the artistic director is Shaeleen. The topic and theme for our podcast is the mistreatment and discrimination of people of color inside of David Douglas.

Episode 9: Sex Workers

This podcast was made by Qi Lin our Web Developer, Daniel is the Artistic Director of our podcast, Brenna and Leslie the Executive Producer, McCormick is our Host. This Podcast is about the experience of a sex worker and the sex trafficking in Portland. This Episode feature theme will be about the problematic of prostitution more in depth the difference between sex trafficking and sex work in Southeast Portland.We are going to have the opportunity to interview a sex worker and try to investigate more about sex trafficking.We choose this topic because after seeing  the statistics, Portland is one of the top cities with an enormous amount of sex trafficking and sex work.

Kat Salas will be the person whom we will be interviewing, she will be able to talk more about her personal sex work and how she freely talks about the topic. Also she will give us her opinion about sex work and how she defends other people who has been in the sex trafficking system. Our guest speaker lead us to Kat whom she is very good friends with and said Kat is very open with these ideas of letting others know about sex trafficking. Since our guest speaker knows and has contact with Kat she will be helping us get ahold of Kat.

The type of podcast we will be creating will be an interview because it’s easier to find out some of the common questions many people have and it’ll give our host an easier job. As of for the writers it’ll also make it easier for them to write a script. Also the thought of talking to a person who’s informing others about a topic it just seems like a good idea for it to be an interview.

Episode 12: The Drugs We Love

Welcome to The Drugs We Love, a podcast created solely by students of DDHS; specifically Shelby and Tina from Ms. Meehan’s class alongside Minh, Kylie, Sydney and Clavin from Ms. Sheehey’s class. Our podcast focuses on the drug problem here in our home of outer SE Portland, OR. We address the fact that here, our community is not only extremely diverse but also wrought with drugs. With the different ethnicities making up our families come different choice drugs. We bring forward hand-picked choice anonymous interviewees from here in DDHS who are prepared to expose their thoughts and place in this drug lined hierarchical society. Though our podcast uses interviews, the breed of our podcast is more on the story-telling scale. Stay tuned for more information and to keep up with our community.

Episode 13: female prostitution

The topic for our podcast is the prostitution that goes on in outer east portland. Our theme for this podcast is investigation. A potential interviewee can be a personal organization that works with sex workers. We will be creating a crime investigation podcast, where we will try to unfold the depths of  prostitution.

Our topic and theme interrelate with one another. We will be investigating what goes on in the real world of sex workers. We will try to see why people went into the business of prostitution either by force or choice, and the hardships they had to go through for being involved in sex work. We will try to investigate how they seek safety and who provides them safety. We want to clear up the confusion that the media has with the work of the sex workers.

Our podcast will be a crime type investigation that will unfold the depths of prostitution. We will try to find out questions everyone wonders about sex workers. We will provide interviews with people who get the inside look of this topic.
